Reviewer: nik - January 17, 2019 As a native speaker, it's not hard for me to understand, but fairly difficult to follow -- in part because I'm getting distracted by trying to pick apart the accent. It's been 20 years, but my best guess is Georgian or a long-time Arabic speaker. All else being equal, audiobooks are better when read with an accent, but they should make up for it in enunciation, which this one does not. |
Reviewer: User - January 11, 2017 Sorry, I do not like any of the recordings for the Russian language. It looks like they read for the first time, no intonation and voice is not clear. I am not russian languange native speaker and i need to hear a more clear voice. |
Reviewer: Stacy - January 25, 2016 Russian is my native language, and I could not listen for more that 10 minutes. Very bad reading, monotone and lisping. It is obviously that reader did not even take care to read the text before recording... |
Reviewer: JOhanna - November 12, 2014 Subject: EN318 reading Fyodor expresses himself through his work. His work almost goes against the western idea that individualism is something to strive for. In White Nights he illustrates the isolation of the post-Russian Revolution society. How everyone was feeling misplaced because of the freedom of the serfs. One can concur that the speaker is a former serf trying to survive the city life. He feels isolated. He doesn't know how to interact. Fyodor is a complex thinker but an easy to read writer. Very great. |
Reviewer: Zarifa - October 12, 2013 I'm a Russian language native, but I'm not understanding what the reader says. He's read very badly as though he does not understand what is written in the book. P.S. sorry for my English. His diction is also very bad. |
