Reviewer: RtR - December 4, 2013 Subject: Mind-boogling Fifty-four chapters of back story and M. Lecoqinly appears in the last 2 chapters. Granted, it ties up the loose ends presented in the first part, but I don't think I would have stayed with it in hard copy. The reader (Tony Oliva) does a very good job, especially with French verbiage and different voices. He gets 5 stars. The author weaves a tale going back several generations with more story lines than I'd care to enumerate. If you're dying to know how the hanging threads in the first part of the two and you have plenty of time on your hands (and aren't snowed in as I am...well, almost) it's chewing gum for the mind and can kill some time; no, not SOME time, but a LOT of time. All in all, I've listened to worse readings. Take it for what it's worth. |
